Twenty-two players chosen from 89 applicants across seven nations for the women's first-ever World Cup in Bodø.
Tamil Eelam announced the 22-player squad for the CONIFA Women's World Cup 2024 in Bodø, Norway — the programme's first-ever World Cup.
The scale of interest showed how far the women's game has come: 89 players applied from across seven nations, and 22 were selected to wear the shirt in Norway.
From Bern to Bodø
The team's first match took place only in October 2022, in Bern, Switzerland. Less than two years later, that same group of pioneers was preparing for a World Cup — and would go on to reach the final against Sápmi. The selection in May 2024 was where that run began.
