Women’s National Team Trials Europe

Tamil Eelam FA Announces Women’s National Team Trials in Paris for 24–25 October

Tamil women footballers across Europe invited to showcase their talent and pursue a place in the Tamil Eelam Women’s National Team, with further trials planned in North America later this year.

The Tamil Eelam Football Association (Tamil Eelam FA) is calling on talented Tamil women footballers from across Europe to register for its upcoming Women’s National Team Trials, taking place in Paris, France, on 24 and 25 October 2026.

The trials offer an important opportunity for players to demonstrate their footballing abilities, showcase their commitment to the game and take a step towards representing Tamil Eelam on the international stage.

Although the trials will be held in Paris, they are open to Tamil women footballers from across Europe. Players living in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Norway, Belgium and other European countries are encouraged to come forward and register.

The aim is to identify talented and committed players who can contribute to the continued development of the Tamil Eelam Women’s National Team and represent the Tamil community with pride.

Building the future of Tamil Eelam women’s football

Tamil Eelam women’s football continues to provide opportunities for Tamil women to compete internationally and inspire future generations. The national team reached the final of the 2024 CONIFA Women’s World Football Cup in Norway, marking a significant achievement for the team and the wider Tamil community.

Building on this progress, Tamil Eelam FA is encouraging new talent to emerge and contribute to the future of the national team.

The Paris trials will give players the opportunity to demonstrate not only their technical ability but also their determination, teamwork, discipline and commitment to representing Tamil Eelam.

Whether playing for a local club, competing at a high level or looking to take their footballing journey further, Tamil women with the ambition to represent the national team are encouraged to put themselves forward.

An opportunity for Tamil women across Europe

For many aspiring players, representing a national team is a lifelong ambition. These trials provide an opportunity to pursue that ambition by stepping onto the pitch, showcasing their skills and being considered for selection.

Tamil Eelam FA encourages players to share the announcement with teammates, clubs and wider networks to ensure talented Tamil women across Europe are aware of the opportunity.

Developing a strong national team means recognising talent throughout the diaspora and creating opportunities for players to contribute to the future of Tamil Eelam football.

North American trials planned for the end of 2026

Following the European trials in Paris, Tamil Eelam FA is also planning a separate trial opportunity in North America towards the end of 2026.

This will provide another opportunity for Tamil women footballers in Canada, the United States and the wider North American region to showcase their abilities and pursue the possibility of representing Tamil Eelam. Further details will be announced separately.
