Tamil Eelam National Women’s Team / தமிழீழத் தேசிய பெண்கள் உதைபந்தாட்ட அணி

On October 21st, 2022, history was made as the inaugural Tamil Eelam National Women’s Team Trials took place in Bern, Switzerland. The event drew talented players from across Europe, all vying for a chance to represent their homeland on the international stage. Spearheading the trials was none other than TEFA Women’s Team Head Coach, Theepan.A, whose expertise and guidance proved invaluable throughout the selection process.

The trials proved to be a resounding success, showcasing the depth of talent within the Tamil Eelam diaspora community. Players exhibited exceptional skill, determination, and passion for the game, making the task of selection both challenging and rewarding.

More than just a showcase of athletic prowess, the trials embodied a deeper commitment to preserving and promoting the rich heritage and identity of the Eelam Tamil community. The TEFA executive team organised a workshop alongside the trials, delving into the profound history, identity, and heritage of the Eelam Tamil people. It was a poignant reminder that the national team’s foundation lies not only in sporting excellence but also in cultural resilience and pride.

As a fitting culmination to the trials, the newly formed team engaged in a friendly match against Switzerland’s SC Aegerten Brugg. The match was fiercely contested, with both sides displaying their abilities on the field. In the end, the encounter resulted in a thrilling 3-3 draw, highlighting the competitive spirit and potential of the newly formed Tamil Eelam Women’s Team.

The inaugural trials not only marked a significant milestone in the journey of Tamil Eelam football but also served as a beacon of hope and empowerment for women athletes within the community. The trials not only foster athletic excellence but also serve as a testament to the resilience and determination of the Eelam Tamil community. With the foundation laid and the team assembled, the future looks bright as the Tamil Eelam Women’s Team prepares to make its mark on the global stage at the CONIFA Women’s World Football Cup 2024 in Bodo, Norway this summer.  This signifies a new chapter in the story of Tamil Eelam’s sporting legacy, one marked by unity, empowerment, and the pursuit of dreams on and off the field.

தமிழீழத் தேசிய பெண்கள் உதைபந்தாட்ட அணிக்கான முதலாவது பயிற்சி முகாமும் சிநேகபூர்வ ஆட்டமும் கடந்த 22.10.2022 தொடக்கம் 24.10.2022 வரை சுவிஸ் நாட்டின் தலைநகரான பேர்னில் (Bern)தமிழீழ விளையாட்டுத்துறை சுவிஸ் கிளையின் ஏற்பாட்டில் மிகவும் சிறப்பாக  நடைபெற்றது.

அங்கீகரிக்கப் படாத நாடுகளுக்கிடையில் நடைபெறவிருக்கும் பெண்களுக்கான ஆசிய மற்றும் உலக கிண்ண போட்டிகளில் பங்கேற்பதற்காக தமிழீழமும் ஒரு பெண்கள் அணியினை உருவாக்கி, நடைபெறவிருக்கும் போட்டியில் பங்கேற்பதற்காக தன்னை தயார்ப்படுத்தி வருகின்றது.

அதன் முதற்கட்டமாக மூன்று நாள் பயிற்சி முகாமும் ஒரு சிநேக பூர்வ ஆட்டமும் ஆடுவதென தீர்மானிக்கப்பட்டது ஜேர்மன்,பிரான்ஸ்,நோர்வே ஆகிய நாடுகளில் இருந்து வந்திருந்த வீராங்கனைகளுடன் சுவிஸ் நாட்டில் இருந்தும் பலர் இணைந்து கொண்டனர்.முதன்மை பயிற்சியாளராக பிரான்ஸ் நாட்டில் இருந்து திரு.தீபன் அவர்கள் வருகை தந்திருந்தார்.உதவி பயிற்சியாளர்களாக சுவிஸ் நாட்டில் பல்வேறு கழகங்களில் பயிற்சியாளர்களாக பணியாற்றும் பல இளைஞர்,யுவதிகளும் பங்கேற்றிருந்தனர்.பயிற்சி முகாமின் இடையே சென்ற 23.102022 ஞாயிறு அன்று முதலாவது சிநேகபூர்வ ஆட்டம் சுவிஸ் நாட்டில் உள்ள SC.Aegerten என்ற அணியுடன் பிற்பகல் மூன்று மணிக்கு நூற்றுக்கணக்கான பார்வையாளர்களுடன்  இரு நாட்டு தேசியக்கொடி ஏற்றத்துடன் ஆரம்பமானது.மிகவும் விறுவிறுப்பாக நடைபெற்ற ஆட்டத்தில் முதல் மூன்று கோல்களை 35 நிமிடத்திற்குள் அடித்து முன்னணியில் நின்றபோதும் பலமான பின்னிரை ஆட்டக்காரர்கள் இல்லாத படியால் 45 நிமிட ஆட்டத்தில் 3:2 எனற நிலையினை அடைந்தனர். இடைவேளையின் பின்னர் மீண்டும் ஆட்டம் சூடு பிடிக்கத்தொடங்கியது.எதிரணியில் பந்து காப்பாளர் உட்பட பலவீரர்கள் மாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்டு ஆட்டம் இறுக்கநிலையினை அடைந்தது.அப்படி இருந்தும் எமது அணி சிறப்பாக விளையாடி நாலாவது கோலையும் போட்டு 4.2 என்ற நிலையில் முன்னணியில் நின்றது. இருந்தபோதும் இறுதி 10 நிமிடத்தில் SC.Aegerten மீண்டும் இரு கோல்களை அடித்து ஆட்டத்தினை சமநிலையில் முடிவுக்கு கொண்டுவந்தது.தமிழீழ அணியின் சார்பில் முதலாவது கோலினை செல்வி இந்துயாவும் தொடர்ந்து 2,3,4 வது கோலினை முறையே கோபிகா,காவேரி,அரிஸ்னிஆகியோர்அடித்தனர்

தாங்கள் வெற்றிபெறவில்லை என்றாலும் நாங்கள் தோற்கவில்லை இதுதான் ஆரம்பம் நாங்கள் தொடர்ந்து முயற்சிப்போம் உதைபந்தாட்டத்தின் மூலம் தமிழீழ தேசத்தை உலக அரங்கில் வெளிக்கொணர்வோம் எனும் உறுதியோடு அனைவரும் விடைபெற்றனர்.
