Tamil Eelam Women’s National Team Victorious Over Hmong FF
The Tamil Eelam Women’s National Team won 2-1 against Hmong Football Federation in the first out of two friendly matches on June 28, 2025.
Tamil Eelam National Women’s Team demonstrated their defensive strength and organization as they absorbed the early pressure from Hmong in the first half. As the match went on, the team picked up the pace and put together an impressive string of quick passes to break through Hmong’s midfield and defensive lines.
Tamil Eelam were on the brink of scoring twice in the first half, denied by a tight offside call and then a save by the opposition keeper in a one-on-one chance. The half ended 0-0 with Tamil Eelam dominating the possession in the match.
The team continued to showcase their silky passing and skills as they started the second half on the front foot. Tamil Eelam scored early in the second half, only to be denied by the offside flag for a second time.
Tamil Eelam Women’s National Team continued to apply pressure and create a string of chances, especially with the wingers dominating the touchline and beating their respectiveopponents. Eventually, a cross over the top from the left wingwas received by an impressive first touch finish by Ovia (#17), putting Tamil Eelam FA 1-0 up against Hmong.
Tamil Eelam defended their lead with strong tackles in the midfield and an excellent organization of the backline, with the keeper making key saves throughout the match. An impressive long-distance shot from outside the box, however, tied the game 1-1 midway through the second half.
Tamil Eelam National Women’s Team maintained their discipline, continuing to win key duels in the midfield and testing Hmong’s backline. Strong possession in the attacking half resulted in a penalty for the home side, giving Tamil Eelam the chance to take the lead and seal the game. Dilakxsika (#9) made no mistake as her strong low-driven shot to the bottom right corner beat the keeper, putting Tamil Eelam up 2-1.
The team continued to show their resilience as they exerted their defensive prowess, won key battles in the middle of the ground, and created dangerous chances to cement the lead. Tamil Eelam FA maintained their strong possession and physicality until the final whistle, defeating Hmong FF 2-1 in a thrilling friendlyencounter.
The match gave the opportunity for the team to showcase their skill, strategy and dedication, with support from a strong and cheering home crowd.
